REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS RESUMED.
TRIBUTE TO MRS. DENISE M. GANTT.
Honorable Harold Washington, Mayor, on behalf of himself and all the members of the City Council, presented the following proposed resolution:
WHEREAS, Mrs. Denise M. Gantt une.xpectedly and sadly passed away, at the young age of36; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Gantt was a diligent and dedicated employee of the City of Chicagos Office of Budget and Management, where she consistently and selflessly served Chicagoans with the highest professional standards; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Gantt was a loving, compassionate, caring person, highly respected and loved by her fellow workers, friends, and family, all of whom are deeply saddened by her death and who will treasure the memory of Mrs. Gantt in their hearts and mjhds; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Gantt was also a loving, dedicated wife and mother who deeply loved her two beautiful children, Erika and Antoinette, and had a long and happy marriage with her devoted husband, William Gantt, and her surviving family members will always remember Mrs. Gantt as a wonderful person who enjoyed life and was devoted to her family; and WHEREAS, Family and friends remember Mrs. Gantt as a caring individual, eager to help her fellow human being and her family and friends; now, therefore.
Be It Resolved, That the Mayor and the City Council assembled here this 9th day of October, 1985, do hereby recognize the many contributions that Mrs. Denise M. Gantt gave to her husband, children, friends, co-workers and the City of Chicago; and Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Mrs. Gantt.
Alderman Streeter moved to Suspend the Rules Temporarily to permit immediate consideration of and action upon the foregoing proposed resolution. The motion Prevailed.
On motion of Alderman Streeter, the foregoing proposed resolution was Adopted, unanimously, by a rising vote.
