Call to Order.
On Wednesday, October 9, 1985 at 11:13 A.M. the hour appointed for the meeting was 10:00 A.M. Honorable Harold Washington, Mayor, called the City Council to order.
Honorable Walter S. Kozubowski, City Clerk, called the roll of members and it was found that there were present at that time: Aldermen Rush, Tillman, Evans, Bloom, Sawyer, Beavers, Humes, Hutchinson, Vrdolyak, Huels, Majerczyk, Burke, Brady, Langford, Streeter, Kellam, Sheahan, Kelley, Sherman, Krystyniak, Henry, Marzullo, Nardulli, W. Davis, Smith, D. Davis, Hagopian, Santiago, Gabinski, .Mell, Frost, KotlarzT Banks, Damato, Cullerton, Laurino, OConnor, Pucinski, Natarus, Oberman, Hansen, McLaughlin, Orbach, Schulter, Volini, Orr - 46.
Quorum present.
Aldermen Roti, .Madrzyk, Stemberk and Stone were absent on City business.
Invocation.
Reverend Milton Brunson, Christ Tabernacle M. B. Church of Austin, opened the meeting with prayer.
Rules S u s p e n d e d - RECOGNITION EXTENDED MR. THOMAS
DILLON AND .MR. RONALD DORNEKER FOR
COURAGEOUS ACTIONS.
Alderman Burke moved to Suspend the Rules. Temporarily to permit the presentation of awards commending the courage and selflessness of Mr. Thomas Dillon and Mr. Ronald Dorneker in saving two drowning people in Lake Michigan. Upon the clerks reading of a previously passed resolution honoring Messrs. Dillon and Dorneker, Mayor Washington invited the men and their families, together with Alderman Burke, to the rostrum.
