WHEREAS it is altogether fitting that a grateful nation should set aside one day each year to pay special homage to the veterans who have fought so valiantly in all of its wars to preserve our heritage of freedom; and WHEREAS the Congress passed a con current resolution on June 4, 1926 44
Stat. 1982, calling for the observance of November 11, the anniversary of the ending of hostilities in World W ar I, with appropriate ceremonies, and later pro vided in an act approved May 13, 1938
52 Stat. 351, that November 11 should be a legal holiday and should be known as Armistice Day ; and WHEREAS the Congress by an act approved June 1, 1954 68 Stat. 168, expanded the significance of that holiday by changing its name to Veterans Day:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, D W IG H T D.
EISENHOWER, President of the United States of America, do hereby call upon all of our citizens to observe Friday, November 11, 1955, as Veterans Day a day of commemoration of those who sacrificed to preserve our Nation and of rededication to the task of achieving an enduring peace.
I also direct the appropriate officials of the Government to arrange for the display of the flag of the United States on all public buildings on Veterans Day.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States of America to be affixed.
DONE at the City of Washington this 25th day of August, in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and seal fifty-five, and of the Independ ence of the United States of America the one hundred and eightieth.

Notice of rule making regarding pro posed expenses and rate of assessment, to be made effective under Marketing Agreement No. 97 and Order No. 58 7

F. R. 5597. This regulatory program is effective under The Agricultural Mar keting Agreement Act o f 1937, as amended 48 Stat.. 31, as amended; 7
U. S. C. 601 et seq.. After consideration of all relevant matters presented, includ ing the proposals set forth in the afore said notice, which proposals were adopt ed and submitted for approval by the area committee for Area No. 3, estab lished pursuant to said marketing agree ment and order, it is hereby found and determined that:
958.219 Expenses and rate of assess ment. a The reasonable expenses that are likely to be incurred by the area com mittee for Area No. 3, established pur suant to Marketing Agreement No. 97
and Order No. 58, to enable such com mittee to perform its functions pursuant to the provisions of the aforesaid mar keting agreement and order, during the fiscal period ending May 31, 1956, will amount to $2,660.
b The rate of assessment to be paid by each handler, pursuant to Marketing Agreement N o .. 97 and Order No. 58, shall be $0.00095 per hundredweight of potatoes handled by him as the first handler thereof during said fiscal pe riod.
c The terms used in this section shall have the same meaning as when used in Marketing Agreement No. 97 and Order No. 58.
