By virtue of the authority vested inme by section 1 of the International O rgani zations Immunities Act, approved Decem ber 29, 1945 59 Stat. 669, and having found that the United States participates in the Organization o f Am erican States pursuant to the treaty o f A pril 30, 1948
T. I. A. S. 2361, I hereby designate such organization as a public international organization entitled to enjoy the privi leges, exemptions, and immunities con ferred by the International Organiza tions Immunities Act.
The designation of the Organization of American States as a public interna tional organization within the m eaning of the International Organizations Im
munities Act is not intended to abridge in any respect privileges, exemptions, and immunities which the Organization m ay have acquired or m ay acquire by treaty or congressional action.
The designation of the Organization of American States m ade by this order shall be deemed to include the designa tion of the Pan American Union, and the designation of the P an Am erican U nion made by Executive Order No. 9698 o f February 19, 1946, is hereby superseded.
