W HEREAS certain forest lands w ithin the State o f Georgia have been or may hereafter be acquired by the U nited States o f Am erica under the authority of sections 6 and 7 o f the act o f March 1, 1911, ch. 186, 36 Stat. 961, as amended U . S. C
title 16, secs. 515, 516; and W HEREAS it appears that the reservation as the Chatta hoochee National Forest o f the said lands together w ith cer tain other lands heretofore fo rm ing parts o f the Cherokee National Forest and the Nantahala National Forest would be in the public interest:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, F R A N K L IN D. ROOSEVELT, Pres ident o f the United States o f America, by virtue o f the power vested in me by section 24 o f the act o f M arch 3,1891, ch. 561, 26 Stat. 1095,1103, as amended U . S. C., title 16, section 471, and by section 11 of the said act o f M arch 1, 1911 U . S. C., title 16, section 521, do proclaim that there are hereby re served and set apart as the Chattahoochee National Forest all lands o f the United States within the following-described boundaries, and that all lands therein which may hereafter be acquired by the United States under authority o f the said act o f March 1, 1911, as amended, sba.il upon their acquisi tion be reserved and administered as a part o f the Chatta hoochee National Forest:
Beginning a t EQicottes R ock," the point where the 35th parallel o f latitude intersects the Chattooga R iver, the cofnmon corner o f the States o f North Carolina, South Carolina and G eorgia; thence southwesterly w ith the me anders of Chattooga R iver to its junction with Tallulah R iver; thence northwesterly w ith the meanders o f Tallulah R iver to where it crosses the south boundary o f Lot 173, D istrict 13; thence southwesterly w ith the boundary o f Lot 173 to the northeast com er o f Lot 164, D istrict 13; thence southeasterly w ith the boundaries o f Lots 164 and 163 to the southeast corner o f Lot 163; thence southwesterly w ith the boundaries o f Lots 163,154,. 144,135,124,115, 96, 87 and 53 to the southwest com er o f Lot 53, D istrict 13; thence northwesterly with the boundaries o f Lots 53, 54 and 55
to the northwest corner o f Lot 55, which is also the south east corner of Lot 41, D istrict 13; thence southwesterly w ith the boundaries o f Lots 41 and 8, D istrict 13 and Lots 8, 39, 54, 77, 92, 109, 124 and 134, D istrict 11, to the south west com er of Lot 134, D istrict 11; thence northwesterly with the west boundaries o f Lots 134, 133, 132 to a point at intersection w ith the line between Districts 11 and 3;
thence northerly w ith the line between Districts 11 and 3, to the northeast com er o f D istrict 3, which is also the southeast com er o f D istrict 6; thence westerly w ith the line between Districts 3 and 6, 79.67 chains to a point in a small stream which point is a com er in the line between W hite
and Habersham Counties; thence in a southerly direction w ith the meanders o f the stream and the County line to the junction o f this stream w ith Sautee Creek; thence southwesterly w ith the meanders o f Sautee Creek to its junction w ith Bean Creek; thence northwesterly w ith the meanders o f Bean Creek to a point in Lot 13, D istrict 6 near head of said creek, where it crosses the road between Robertstown and Hickorynut School; thence southwesterly with the meanders of said road to its intersection w ith Georgia Highway No. 75 at Robertstown; thence northwesterly w ith Highway No. 75, approxim ately 30 chains to the junction with a road leading southwest up Church Branch; thence southwesterly w ith said road approxim ately 35 chains to intersection w ith the east boundary o f Lot 29, D istrict 3;
thence southerly w ith the east boundary of Lots 29, 36, 61, 68 and 93 to the southeast com er of Lot 93, D istrict 3;
thence westerly w ith the south boundary of said Lot 93 to the southwest com er thereof; thence southerly w ith the east boundary o f Lot 99, D istrict 3, to the southeast com er thereof; thence westerly with the sound boundary of Lots 99, 98 and 97, D istrict 3, approxim ately 126 chains to in
tersection w ith a public road just east o f Ledford Creek;
thence southwesterly w ith the meanders o f said road to its junction w ith U. S. Highway No. 129 in Lot 27, D istrict 4;
thence northwesterly w ith U. S. Highway No. 129 to its in tersection w ith the south boundary o f L o t 53, D istrict 4;
thence westerly w ith the south boundaries o f Lots 53, 68, 77, 92,101 and 116 to the southwest com er o f Lot 116, Dis trict 4, on the line between Districts 4 and 15, a point in Chestatee R iver; thence southerly down Chestatee R iver with its meanders, to the southeast com er o f Lot 161, Dis trict 15; thence westerly w ith the south boundary of Lots 161 and 160, D istrict 15, to U. S. Highway No. 19; thence southerly with U. S. Highway No. 19 to the south boundary o f Lot 338, D istrict 15; thence westerly with the south boundary o f Lots 338, 339, and 340 to the southwest com er o f Lot 340 which is in the line between Districts 15 and 12;
thence southerly w ith the line between Districts 15 and 12
to the southeast com er of Lot 1165, D istrict 12; thence westerly with the south boundaries o f Lots 1165, 1158 and 1121 to the southwest com er of Lot 1121, D istrict 12; thence northerly w ith the west boundaries of Lots 1121, 1120 and 1119 to the northwest com er o f Lot 1119, D istrict 12; thence westerly w ith the south boundaries o f Lots 1117, 1068 and 1067 to the southwest com er o f Lot 1067, D istrict 12;
