TO PAUL ROBESON HIGH SCHOOL
FOOTBALL "TEAM ON WINNING
CITYS 1990 FOOTBALL
CHAMPIONSHIP.
Alderman Streeter moved to Suspend the Rules Temporarily for the purpose of going out of the regular order of business for the immediate consideration of and action upon a proposed resolution. The motion Prevailed.
The said proposed resolution reads as follows:
WHEREAS, The great football team of Paul Robeson High School became the Citys 1990 Football Champions in their November 23rd victory over the excellent Gordon Tech team; and WHEREAS, While both teams exhibited the highest standards of sportsmanship, the Paul Robeson team won a resounding victory; and WHEREAS, This is the first time in its history that Paul Robeson High School has won such a championship; and WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City take great pride in Chicagos youth and in their performance in competition; now, therefore.
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City ofChicago, gathered here this fifth day of December, 1990, A.D., do hereby congratulate Paul Robeson High School and its powerful team in winning the Citys 1990 Football Championship. We extend to each and every team member our gratitude and our best wishes for success and fulfillment in the many years to come; and Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Paul Robeson High School.
On motion of Alderman Streeter, seconded by Aldermen Beavers and Langford, the foregoing proposed resolution was Adopted by yeas and nays as follows:
