Derogation concerning production in the demarcated geographical area Description of the condition:
For the supplementary geographical name Pupillin, the area in immediate proximity, defined by derogation for the making, preparation and ageing of the wines, comprises the territory of the municipalities referred to in points IV1a and IV3a, except for the municipality of Pupillin, which is the geographical area of this geographical name.

The name of the Arbois controlled designation of origin may be supplemented with the traditional term vin de paille.
The name of the Arbois controlled designation of origin may be supplemented with the traditional term vin jaune.
Wines eligible to bear the term vin de paille must also state the vintage.
For wines with the supplementary geographical name Pupillin, the supplementary geographical name must be entered following the controlled designation of origin and be printed in letters no larger, either in width or in height, than those of the controlled designation of origin.
Wines with the controlled designation of origin may specify on their labels the name of a smaller geographical unit, provided that:
it is a place name listed in the land registry, it appears on the harvest declaration.
The place name must be printed in letters no larger, either in height or in width, than half the size of the letters forming the name of the registered designation of origin.

The clavelin bottle, otherwise known as a vin jaune bottle, which has a capacity of approximately 62 centilitres, is reserved exclusively for bottling wines whose designation of origin includes the traditional term vin jaune yellow wine.
