COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY.
FEDERAL OFFICIALS URGED TO REJECT PROPOSED NAMING OF
FEDERAL BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES
HEADQUARTERS IN WASHINGTON, D.C., IN HONOR OF ELIOT NESS.

The Committee on Public Safety submitted the following report:
CHICAGO, March 5,2014.
To the President and Members of the City Council:
Your Committee on Public Safety begs leave to report and recommend that Your Honorable Body Adopt the proposed resolution calling for the rejection of the proposed naming of the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Headquarters in Washington in honor of Eliot Ness.
This recommendation was concurred in unanimously by a viva voce vote of the members of the committee, with no dissenting vote.

On motion of Alderman Balcer, the committees recommendation was Concurred In and the said proposed resolution was Adopted by yeas and nays as follows:

Alderman Pope moved to reconsider the foregoing vote. The motion was lost.
