Committee members serve as Special Government Employees SGE as defined in section 202a of title 18
U.S.C. As such, they are subject to Federal conflict of interest laws and government-wide standards of conduct regulations. Members must annually file a New Entrant Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports OGE Form 450 for review and approval by Department ethics officials. DHS may not release these reports or the information in them to the public except under an order issued by a Federal court or as otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act 5 U.S.C. 552a or Freedom of Information Act FOIA 5 U.S.C. 552.
Committee members may also be required to obtain and retain at least a secret-level security clearance as a condition of their appointment.
Members are not compensated for their service on the Committee; however, while attending meetings or otherwise engaged in Committee business, members may receive travel expenses and per diem in accordance with Federal regulations.

1. A current resume; and 2. A letter that explains your qualifications for service on the Committee and describes in detail how your experience is relevant to the Committees work.
