NCEH partners provided feedback to refine this research protocol, to revise the ICR, and to begin this study in 2021.
NCEH is requesting approval for revisions which fall into three categories: 1 Changes to strengthen the
study, based on recent experience and stakeholder feedback; 2 changes to respond to the COVID19 pandemic, and 3 a change in one participating site.
NCEH is requesting a revised PRA
clearance for 820 responses per year and
for a time burden of 261 hours per year.
These changes result in a decrease of 1,307 responses and 91 hours per year relative to the 2018 PRA clearance.
There is no cost to the respondents other than their time.

The Centers for Medicare &
Medicaid Services CMS is announcing an opportunity for the public to comment on CMS intention to collect information from the public. Under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995
PRA, federal agencies are required to publish notice in the Federal Register concerning each proposed collection of information, including each proposed extension or reinstatement of an existing collection of information, and to allow a second opportunity for public comment on the notice. Interested persons are invited to send comments regarding the burden estimate or any other aspect of this collection of information, including the necessity and utility of the proposed information collection for the proper performance of

3506c2A requires federal agencies to publish a 30-day notice in the Federal Register concerning each proposed collection of information, including each proposed extension or reinstatement of an existing collection of information, before submitting the collection to OMB for approval. To comply with this requirement, CMS is publishing this notice that summarizes the following proposed collections of information for public comment:
1. Type of Information Collection Request: Extension of a currently approved collection; Title of Information Collection: Limitations on Provider Related Donations and Health Care Related Taxes, Medicaid and Supporting Regulations in 42 CFR
433.68 through 433.74; Use: States may elect to submit a waiver to CMS for the broad based and/or uniformity requirements for any health care related tax program which does not conform to the broad based and uniformity requirements. It is also the responsibility of each State to demonstrate that their tax programs do not violate the hold harmless provision.
For a waiver to be approved and a determination that the hold harmless provision is not violated, States must submit written documentation which satisfies the regulatory requirements.
