Effective October 1, 1956, 29.17 is added.
29.17 Exclusions from retirement coverage, a The following groups of employees in the executive branch of the Government are excluded from the Civil Service Retirement Act:
1 Employees serving under appoint ments limited to one year or less.
2 Part-time, when actually em ployed, or intermittent employees having no regular tour of duty.
3 Employees whose salary, pay or compensation on an annual basis is $12
a year or less. <4> Member or patient employees in Government hospitals or homes.
5 Employees paid on a contract or fee basis.
6 Employees paid on a piece wo:
basis, except those whose work schedu provides for regular or full-time servic 7 Intermittent alien employees e:
gaged on work outside the continent limits of the United States.
8 Employees serving under temp rary appointments pending establis ment of registers, or pending final dete mination of eligibility for permane:
appointment.
9 Acting postmasters, clerks fourth-class post offices, substitute rur carriers, and special-delivery messenge at second-, third-, and fourth-class pc offices.
