1. Section 6.1 f is amended to read as follows:
6.1 Positions excepted from the competitive service.
f Whenever any position in Sched ule A or B -6.4 or any position ex cepted from the competitive service by statute is occupied by a person having a competitive status, such person shall not be entitled to the protection against separation provided by this section and the Civil Service rules and regulations:
Provided, That the Commission shall designate such positions in Schedules A
and B as are not of a primarily confi dential or policy-determining character, and whenever any position so designated is occupied by a person having a com petitive status, however he may have been appointed to such position, he shall be separated therefrom only in accord ance with the provisions of this section and the Civil Service rules and regula tions.1

The following positions are those ex cepted from the competitive service to which appointments may be made with out examination by the Commission, and constitute Schedule A of the Civil Serv ice rules:
