E nlarging O lympic N ational P ark W ashington BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the act of June 29, 1938, c. 812, 52 Stat. 1241 U.S.C., title 10, secs.
251-255, established the Olympic Na tional Park in the State of Washington, and authorizes the enlargement thereof by proclamation under the terms and conditions set forth in the said act; and WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to add to the said park certain hereinafterdescribed lands now within the bound aries of the Olympic National Forest;
and WHEREAS the terms and conditions of section 5 of the said act of June 29, 1938, have been fully complied with in respect of such lands:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FRANKLIN D.
ROOSEVELT, President of the United States of America, under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 5 of the aforesaid act of June 29, 1938, do proclaim that, subject to all valid existing rights, the following-described lands, in the State of Washington, are hereby added to and made a part of the Olympic National Park:

S. 056 W., approximately 280 ft., to north line of county road;
S. 8544 W., approximately 505 ft., along north line of county road;
S. 6511 W., approximately 120 ft., along north line of county road;
S. 4430 W., approximately 136 ft.;
N. 69815 W., 77.3 ft.;
S. 4645 W., 83 ft.;
S. 29Q9 E., 58.2 ft.;
S. 4300 W., approximately 170 ft., to the south boundary of lot 1;
N. 89827 E., approximately 1150 ft., to the east boundary of sec. 3;
N. 056 E., 1306.8 ft., to the place of begin ning;

clusive, partly unsurveyed.

The areas described aggregate approxi m ately 20,600 acres.
The administration, protection, and development of the lands within this area shall be exercised under the direc tion of the Secretary of the Interior by the National Park Service, subject to the provisions of the act entitled An Act to establish a National Park Service, and for other purposes, approved August 25, 1916, 39 Stat. 535 U.S.C. title 16, secs.
1 and 2, and acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof, and to all other laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the said park.
Nothing herein contained shall affect any valid existing claim, location, or en try made under the land laws of the United States, whether for homestead, mineral, right-of-way, or any other pur pose whatsoever, or shall affect the right of any such claimant, locator, or entryman to the frill use and enjoyment of his land, nor the rights reserved by treaty to the Indians of any tribes.
