Pursuant to paragraph 36 of Treasury Decision 46255, dated March 4, 1933, you are advised that under present laws and decrees o f the Government o f Peru the killing of vicunas is prohibited. Consequently, consular certificates should be required pursuant to the provisions o f section 527 o f the T a riff A ct of 1930 U . S. C title 19, sec. 1527, before per m itting the entry of such animals or parts or products there of, imported directly or indirectly from Peru.
