The Commission is in receipt of the above-entitled and numbered applica tion for relief from the long-and-shorthaul provision of section 4 1 of the Interstate Commerce Act.
Piled by: R. G. Raasch, Agent, for carriers parties to his tariff ICC No. 752.
Commodities involved: Merchandise In mixed carloads.
Prom: Peoria, 111., and Chicago, HI., and points grouped therewith.

To: Specified points in Georgia and Florida.
Grounds for relief: Competition with rail carriers, circuitous routes, compéti tion with motor carriers.
Schedules filed containing proposed rates: R. G. Raasch, Agent, ICC No. 752, supl. 9.
Any interested person desiring the Commission to hold a hearing upon such application shall request the Commis sion in writing so to do within 15 days from the date of this notice. As pro vided by the general rules of practice of the Commission, Rule 73, persons other than applicants should fairly disclose their interest, and the position they in tend to take at the hearing with respect
to the application. Otherwise the Commission, in its discretion, may pro ceed to investigate and determine the matters involved in such application without further or formal hearing. If because of an emergency a grant of tem porary relief is found to be necessary before the expiration of the 15-day pe riod, a hearing, upon a request filed within that period, may be held subse quently.
