M aking the P rovisions op the A ct op A ugust 26, 1950, P ublic Law 733, 81 st Congress, A pplicable to T he P anama Canal and the P anama R ailroad Com pany
By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 3 of the act of August 26, 1950, entitled An Act To protect the national security of the United States by permitting the summary suspension of employment of .civilian officers and em ployees of various departments and agen cies of the Government, and for other purposes Public Law 733, 81st Con gress, and deeming such action neces sary in the best interests of national security, it is hereby ordered that the provisions of the said act shall apply to The Panama Canal and to the Panama Railroad Company: Provided, however, That this order shall not be construed as modifying the authority conferred upon the Secretary of the Army by para graph 1 h of Executive Order No. 9746
of July 1,1946, as amended by Executive Order No. 10101 of January 31, 1950.

M aking Certain Changes in the Customs F ield O rganization
2. The designation of Lewes, Delaware, as a customs port of entry in Customs Collection District Number 11 Phila delphia, is revoked.
3. The limits of the customs port of entry of New London, Connecticut, in Customs Collection District Number 6
Connecticut, are extended to include the territory embracing the municipal ity of Groton, Connecticut.
4. Pelican, Alaska, is designated as a customs port of entry in Customs Col lection District Number 31 Alaska.
This order shall become effective May 1, 1951.

E xemption
of pulsory
H owell C one from Co m
R etirement for Age
WHEREAS, in my judgment, the pub lic interest requires that Howell Cone, Collector of Customs for Customs Collectfon District No. 17, with headquarters at Savannah, Georgia, be exempted from compulsory retirement for age as pro vided bejow:
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 204
of the act of June 30, 1932, 47 Stat. 404
5 U. S. C. 715a, it is ordered, effective as of December 1, 1948, that the said Howell Cone be, and he is hereby, ex empted from compulsory retirement for age under the provisions of the Civil Service Retirement Act of May 29, 1930, as amended, for an indefinite period of time not extending beyond the appoint ment and qualification of his successor.

By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 1 of the act of August 1, 1914, 38 Stat. 623 19 U. S. C. 2, and in the interest of the internal management of the Government, it is ordered that the following changes be, and they are here by, made in the customs field organiza tion:
