spect to R etirement P ay
ment pay in the amount authorized by the applicable provisions of law in effect on September 30, 1949, the day immedi ately preceding the effective date of sec tion 411 of the Career Compensation Act of 1949, unless, pursuant to the said sec tion 411, he elects a different method of payment prior to October 1, 1954, and qualifies for such method.
Sec. 4. Any election made pursuant to section 411 of the Career Compensation Act of 1949 and these regulations shall be effective as 6f October 1, 1949.
S ec . 5. The Secretaries concerned are authorized to prescribe such supplemen tal regulations, not inconsistent here with, as they may deem necessary or de sirable for carrying out the provisions of this order.
S ec. 6. This order shall be effective as of October 1, 1949.
