ORDER TO CEASE AND DESIST

D o c k e t No. 3848

This proceeding having been heard by the Federal Trade Commission upon the complaint of the Commission, and the answer of respondent, in which answer respondent admits all the material alle gations of fact set forth in said com plaint, and states th at he waives all intervening procedure and further hear ing as to said facts, and the Commission having made its findings as to the facts and conclusion th at said respondent has violated the provisions of the Federal Trade Commission Act;
It is ordered, That the respondent, Irving Sofronski, an individual trading as Dr. Ron-Al Medicine Company, Dr.
Penns Products Company, and Penn Products, or trading under any other name or names, his agents, servants, rep resentatives and employees, directly or through any corporate or other device, do forthwith cease and desist from:
Disseminating or causing to be dis seminated any advertisement by means of the United States mails or in com merce, as commerce is defined in the Fed eral Trade Commission Act, by any means, for the purpose of inducing or which is likely to induce, directly or in directly, the purchase of an emmanagogue preparation now known as Dr.
Ron-Als Relief Compound, or any other medicinal preparation composed of substantially similar ingredients or pos sessing substantially similar therapeutic properties, whether sold under the same name or under any other name or names, or disseminating or causing to be dis seminated any advertisement by any means for the purpose of inducing or which is likely to induce, directly or in directly, the purchase in commerce, as commerce is defined in the Federal Trade Commission Act, of said medioinal prep aration which advertisements represent,

Disseminating, etc., advertise ments by means of the United States mails, or in commerce, or by any means, to induce, etc., directly or indirectly, purchase of emmenagogue preparation known as Dr. Ron-Als Relief Com pound, or other similar medicinal preparation, w h i c h advertisements represent, directly or through implica tion, that the use of said medicinal preparation constitutes a safe, com petent or scientific treatment for de layed menstruation or th at its use will have no ill effect upon the human body, and which advertisements fail to reveal that the use of said preparation may result in serious or irreparable injury to the health of the user, prohibited.
