By the President o f the United States of America A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS certain lands adjoining the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument in Colorado have been donated to the United States fo r inclusion in and extension of the said monument; and WHEREAS it appears that such lands are required fo r the proper care and management o f the objects being protected by the said monument:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, F R A N K LIN D. ROOSEVELT, President of the United States of America, under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 2 of the act of June 8, 1906, ch. 3060, 34 Stat. 225 U. S. C., title 16, sec.
431, do proclaim that the following-described lands in Colorado are hereby added to and made a part of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument:

Warning is hereby expressly given to all unauthorized per sons not to appropriate, injure, destroy, or remove any part or feature of this monument, and not to locate or settle upon any of the lands thereof.
The Director of the National Park Service, under the direc tion of the Secretary of the Interior, shall have the super vision, management, and control o f the monument as provided in the act of Congress entitled An act to establish a National Park Service, and fo r other purposes, approved August 25, 1916, 39 Stat. 535 U. S. C., title 16, secs. 1 and 2 , and acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.

RESTORING CERTAIN LANDS TO THE TERRITORY OF H A W A n FOR
H IG H W A Y PURPOSES

W HEREAS by proclamation o f June 10, 1901, the Acting Governor of the Territory of Hawaii set apart a certain tract of land known as Kewalo-uka on Punchbowl Hill, Honolulu, Oahur, for the uses and purposes o f the United States fo r the maintenance o f an agricultural experiment station, now known as the Hawaii Agricultural Experiment Station, and under the control of the United States Department o f A gri culture; there being reserved, however, to the possession, use, and control o f the Territory o f Hawaii all rights-of-w ay fo r public highways then in use within the said tract of land; and W HEREAS by proclamation of December 6, 1937, the Governor o f the Territory f Hawaii set apart for the uses and purposes o f the United States all those lands embraced in the said rights-of-w ay reserved, as above stated, within the area set aside fo r the use of the United States by the said proclamation of June 10, 1901; and W HEREAS the City and County of Honolulu has realigned the highway known as Tantalus Drive and has constructed a macadamized road over and upon the said realigned high way, which traverses in part portions o f the tract of land set apart fo r the uses and purposes of the United States by the said proclamation of June 10, 1901, and also traverses cer tain contiguous areas over which, by that proclamation, the rights-of-w ay were reserved to the possession, use, and con trol o f the Territory o f H awaii; and W HEREAS certain portions o f the said lands set apart for the uses and purposes o f the United States by the said proclamations of June 10, 1901, and December 6, 1937, are needed by the Government of the Territory of Hawaii for highway purposes as hereinbefore indicated:
NOW , THEREFORE, by virtue of and pursuant to the authority vestedi in me by section 91 of the act of A pril 30, 1900, 31 Stat. 141, 159, as amended by section 7 of the act of May 27, 1910, 36 Stat. 443, 447, it is ordered that all lands of the said Hawaii Agricultural Experiment Station, under the control of the United States Department of Agriculture, within the lim its of the said realigned right-of-w ay as shown on the map prepared by the Works Progress Administration Office, at Honolulu, and dated March 31, 1937, and on file in the M ap and Tracing Vault o f the Honolulu City and County Engineers Office, at Honolulu a blueprint copy of which is on file in the Division o f the Federal Register, The National 1159
