By the President of the United States of America A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS certain land contiguous to the Wupatki Na tional Monument, established by Proclamation of December 9, 1924 43 Stat. 1977, have situated thereon prehistoric and archaeological ruins of historic and scientific interest; and WHEREAS there are other lands contiguous to the said Monument which are necessary fo r the proper care, manage ment, and protection of the prehistoric ruins situated on the lands now included in the aforesaid Monument and on the additional lands above referred to; and WHEREAS it appears that it would be in the public inter est to reserve such lands as an addition to the Wupatki National Monument:
____ NOW, THEREFORE, I, FR A N K L IN D. ROOSEVELT, President of the United States of America, under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 2 of the act of June 8, 1906, ch. 3060, 34 Stat. 225 U. S. C., title 16, sec.
431, do proclaim that, subject to the withdrawal made by order of the Secretary of . the Interior of July 9, 1934, in aid of the consolidations authorized by the act of June 14, 1934, ch. 521, 48 Stat. 960, and subject to all valid existing rights, the following-described lands in Arizona are hereby reserved and added to and made a part of the Wupatki National Monument:

Warning is hereby expressly given to all unauthorized persons not to appropriate, injure, destroy, or remove any feature of this Monument and not to locate or settle upon any of the lands thereof.
The Director of the National Park Service, under the direction of the Secretary of the Interior, shall have the supervision, management, and control of the Monument as provided in the act of Congress entitled An Act To establish a National Park Service, and fo r other purposes , approved August 25, 1916 39 Stat. 535, U. S. C., title 16, secs. 1 and 2, and acts supplementary thereto or amenda tory thereof.
IN W ITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the act of June 25, 1910, ch. 421, 36 Stat. 847, as amended by the act of August 24, 1912, ch. 369, 37 Stat. 497, Execu tive Order No. 5603 of April 20, 1931, withdrawing public lands in Wyoming, pending resurvey, is hereby revoked.
This order shall become effective upon the date of the official filing of the plats of the resurvey of the lands now subject to said Executive Order Nq. 5603.
