ACTION: Notice of proposed rulemaking NPRM.
AGENCY:
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive AD for certain General Electric Company GE
CF348C and CF348E model turbofan engines. This proposed AD was prompted by a report of a quality escape during the manufacturing of a highpressure turbine HPT rotor stage 1
disk. This proposed AD would require removing the HPT rotor stage 1 disk from service and replacing the HPT
rotor stage 1 disk with a part eligible for installation. The FAA is proposing this AD to the unsafe condition on these products.
DATES: The FAA must receive comments on this proposed AD by November 22, 2021.
