By the President of the United JStates of America A Proclamation WHEREAS the ongoing strength of our Nation depends upon the health of our young people; and WHEREAS we must always strive to improve the fitness of our youth by de termined and coordinated efforts; and WHEREAS, in this challenging world, it is essential that our young people recognize their obligation to themselves, Jo their families, and to the Nation, to endeavor to keep themselves mentaUy, emotionally, spiritually, socially, and Physically fit; and /
WHEREAS the Presidents Council on xouth Fitness has recommended that a National Youth Fitness W eek be desig nated:

MENT, CALIFORNIA
By the President of the United States of America A Proclamation
THE PRESIDENT
W H E R E A S the Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego County, C ali fornia, was established by Proclam ation No. 1255 o f October 14, 1913 38 Stat.
1965, on approxim ately one-half acre of land that, along w ith other lands, had been set aside fo r m ilitary purposes by an order approved by the President on February 26, 1852; and W H E R E A S the present area o f the monument is not adequate fo r the proper care and m anagem ent o f the historical landmarks and historical objects situ ated therein; and W H E R E A S approxim ately eighty acres o f land contiguous to and completely surrounding the present site o f the monument and constituting a part of the lands set aside fo r m ilitary purposes by the order o f February 26, 1852, are no longer needed fo r m ilitary purposes;
and c W H E R E A S those lands are essential to the proper care and m anagement of the Cabrillo National Monument and it is in the public interest to redefine the boundaries of, and to add those sur rounding lands to, the monument:

EISENH O W ER, President o f the United States o f America, under and by virtue o f the authority vested in me by section 2 o f the act o f Congress approved June 8, 1906, 34 Stat. 225 16 U.S.C. 431, do hereby proclaim th a t the follow ingdescribed tract o f land, which comprises the original site o f the monument ,and the additional lands needed fo r the pur poses stated above, shall constitute the Cabrillo National Monument :
Beginning at Navy Monument E as that monument is shown on District Public Works Office Drawing No. ND11/N1-191, dated December 29, 1947, and on file In the District Public Works Office, Eleventh Naval District, 1220 Pacific Highway; Monument E also bears South 812128" West, 1235.48 feet from U.S. Coast and Geodetic Monument Point Lom a Lighthouse o ld : thence from the Point of Beginning, North 893135" East, Continued on p. 845
