By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 5785 b of title 10 of the United States Code, it is ordered as follows:
Except as to the provision which, as amended by section 201 9 A of the act of August 21, 1957, 71 Stat. 383, reads,
The Secretary o f the N av y sh a ll fu rn ish th e appropriate selection b o a rd convened u n d e r chapter 543 o f this title w ith th e n u m b e r o f officers, not restricted in the p erform an ce o f duty, other th a n w om en officers app o inted under section 5590 o f th is title, th a t m ay be recommended fo r prom o tio n to th e grad e o f captain or com m ander in the M edical Corps, the Supply Corps, th e C h a p la in Corps, the Civil Engineer Corps, D e n ta l Corps, o r the Medical Service Corps,
the provisions of section 5762 a of title 10 of the United States Code, to the ex tent that such provisions are applicable to promotions to the grade of /com mander in the Supply Corps, the Chap lain Corps, the Civil Engineer Corps, and the Medical Service Corps, are hereby suspended until June 30 of the fiscal year following that in which the national emergency proclaimed by Proclamation No. 2914 of December 16, 1950, shall end.
