NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on November 5, 2018, the Mayor submitted to the Council the following proposed resolution, pursuant to Section 363 of the New York City Charter, authorizing the New York City Department of Transportation, to grant a non-exclusive franchise for the provision of bus service between Manhattan and Staten Island.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK
RESOLUTION NO.
Resolution, pursuant to Section 363 of the New York City Charter, authorizing the New York City Department of Transportation to grant a non-exclusive franchise for the provision of bus service between Manhattan and Staten Island.
By Council Member Salamanca by request of the Mayor WHEREAS, by Executive Order No. 25, dated August 23, 1995, the Mayor has designated the New York City Department of Transportation DOT as the responsible agency for the granting of franchises for bus lines; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 363 of the New York City Charter, Charter the Commissioner of DOT Commissioner has made the initial determination of the need for a non-exclusive franchise for bus lines providing common carrier service to passengers along designated routes, between the boroughs of Staten Island and Manhattan Bus Service in the City of New York; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the granting of such non-exclusive franchise will promote the public interest, and enhance the health, welfare and safety of the public and the Citys transportation network; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the preparation of a solicitation for such Bus Service, to conduct appropriate environmental
