Pursuant to 37.7c, if the DCC or DSA is solicited through written materials such as mail inserts or take one applications and the bank provides only the short form disclosures in the written materials, then the bank shall mail the acknowledgment, together with the long form disclosures, to the customer. The bank may not obligate the customer to pay for the contract until after the bank has received the customers written acknowledgment of receipt of disclosures, unless the bank takes certain steps, maintains certain documentation, and permits the customer to cancel the purchase within 30 days after mailing the long form disclosures to the customer. Section 37.7d permits the customers affirmative election and acknowledgment to be made electronically.

AGENCY:

The Internal Revenue Service, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on information collections, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The IRS is soliciting comments concerning disclosure of tax return information for purposes of quality or peer reviews, disclosure of tax return information due to incapacity or death of tax return preparer.

SUMMARY:

Abstract: These regulations govern the circumstances under which tax return information may be disclosed for purposes of conducting quality or peer reviews, and disclosures that are necessary because of the tax return preparers death or incapacity.
Current Actions: There is no change to this existing regulation.
Type of Review: Extension of currently approved collection.
Affected Public: Business or other forprofit organizations.
